An unexpectedly sunny winter day, a muddy walk in the woods with the dog, then back inside to warm up with a red wine by the fire. Am I knitting or wearing a Kersen cardigan? Perhaps both! Kersen is a top-down cardigan featuring an easy-to-work lace pattern in panels down the front and back, as well a pretty cable section. A seed stitch shawl collar rounds out this cozy cardi, which knits up quickly in a DK weight.
SIZE: XS (S, M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X) (shown in size S).
GAUGE: 21 sts/26 rows = 4 x 4 inches (or 10 x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch after blocking.
YARN USED TO MAKE CARDIGAN PICTURED: Wollmeise DK [100% merino wool; 468yd/428m per 200g skein]; color: Ruby Thursday; 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5) skeins.
TECHNIQUES: simple lace knitting, cable knitting, knitting in the round, increasing and decreasing, buttonholes, picking up stitches.
