Hot Stuff Coffee Cozies

free pattern!

Looking for a fun little gift for your significant other (or anyone else who loves their coffee)? These coffee cozies may be just the ticket. I designed them as a Valentine's Day gift for my husband and thought they might make other knitters smile, too. The cozies are knit flat and fasten with a button on one side, so they will fit coffee mugs as well as barista-style cardboards cups. Knit in a worsted wool yarn, they knit up super quickly and will keep hands cool and coffee warm. They're good for using up leftover half-skeins of yarn, too!

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Width: 3.5 inches, Length: 8.5 inches without the buttonhole strap, 10 inches with the buttonhole strap.

GAUGE: 18 sts/24 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch.

MATERIALS: Worsted weight wool blend or 100% wool yarn, approximately 45 yards for the main color and 30 yards for the contrasting color for 1 cozy, 1 set US #6/4mm straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge, 2 buttons of approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) in diameter, darning needle.
