Ever since Marlene Dietrich adopted the beret as a fashion statement in the 1920s, it has been a fixture both on the catwalk and off, returning to popularity time and again. Coniferous is a classically shaped beret with a ribbed brim and a cable pattern on top. The decreases are worked in the cable pattern and between cables creating a star shape. Knit in a worsted weight wool, it�s fun, chic, and deliciously warm.

SIZE: One size (will fit a 20-24 inch head).

MEASUREMENTS: Hat brim circumference approximately 20 inches unstretched.

GAUGE: 16 st/22 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch using US #7/4.5mm needle

MATERIALS: 1 10o g. skeins of a worsted weight yarn (yarn used for hat in pictures is 100% wool; 193 yards/176 m per 100g. skein), 1 16-inch length US #7/4.5mm circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge) 1 16-inch length US #6/4mm circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge), 1 set of US #6/4mm dpns (or size needed to obtain gauge), 1 stitch marker, cable needle, darning needle.
